The project consist in the new expansion of the existing part of Tuan Chau island, over the SW marshland facing the spectacular panorama of Ha Long Bay. The symbolic shape proposed is inspired by the ancient legend of Ha Long Dragon, creating from his mouth the Pearls that will be transformed in thousands of island that form a barrier to protect Vietnam from invasions. Despite the zoomorphic shape, the urban design is extremely organized, maximizing the number of houses with direct access to the sea and facing the wonderful natural landscape, located on the crests of the dragon. A suggestive waterway entering in the mouth of the Dragon serves the internal linked houses creating a green path crossing the area. All the houses are connected by a double circulation system, by road and by water, with all the services, the cultural centre, the beaches, the harbours and golf courses. The project was presented in the Island on June 2008 with a nationalceremony that coincided with the Miss Universe - Vietnam 2008.
